Giants Hakeem Nicks is Out

As Week Four nears, teams are announcing their last-minute injuries. At the top of the list is New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks.

The player has swelling in his knee and on Saturday, the team placed him as out on the injury report. His injury supposedly came in Week 2 when Nicks tried to make a catch and hit the ground.  He will not travel with the team for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The news doesn’t really come as a surprise. On Thursday, the Giants determined Nicks wasn’t ready for the upcoming game after he finally tried running after a hiatus since Week 2. In addition to the alleged knee swelling, there may also be concerns with soreness in the player’s right foot.

Questions are lingering if Nicks will be able to play next week against the Cleveland Browns.

As for this week’s game, Ramses Barden will most likely pinch hit for Nicks.

Bears Matt Forte, Earl Bennett Listed as Questionable

Along with the questions on whether Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte has a high ankle sprain or not, the next one is whether he’ll play this Monday night against the Dallas Cowboys.

On Saturday, according to ESPN, Forte did take part in the team’s workout after previously being limited.

Last week, Forte did not play in the game against the St. Louis Rams after injuring his ankle against the Green Bay Packers in Week 2.

Also possibly joining Forte on the field Monday is wide receiver Earl Bennett. He has a hand injury and has seen his production wane in the last two games.

Bears receivers coach Darryl Drake said of Bennett via ESPN, “He’s been playing and just has to keep playing and doing what he’s doing and he’ll be fine. ”

Yep, I think we’ll see both of them on Monday night.

Patriots Gronkowski Also Listed as Questionable

Even with his listing as questionable due to a hip injury, New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is expected to play on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. This came on earlier news from ESPN’s Adam Shefter who tweeted about it.

This is a good thing considering fellow tight end Aaron Hernandez is out.

One Patriots’ player who will not play on Sunday is left guard Logan Mankins. Tom Curran of reported that the player did not join the team for the Buffalo trip. Mankins has also been dealing with a hip injury; he didn’t practice this week.

Donald Thomas is expected to start for the injure player on Sunday.
